There are many many types of positive psychology interventions out there. Today I am showing one that wants to target multiple aspects of your life. One example of this is targeting positive emotions, engagement, relationships, mindfulness, accomplishments, and vitality (PERMA-V). You’ll likely focus on one at a time for about a week, but you’ll engage with these topics in many ways such as educational materials, interactive games, and tasks for you to try during the week. On average, doing this really can help a number of outcomes as seen in the picture.
A few more notes on PERMA-V:
P - It is normal to have negative emotions, but do you have enough positive emotion to balance it out. What can you do to increase that?
E - Are you engaged with the work you do or do you just do it because you have to?
R - Do you have relationships at different levels (e.g., acquaintances, close friends that you can disclose personal and intimate stories to)?
M - Are you aware of how you are feeling? Does your mind wander when you are trying to focus? How can you lessen that? A - Do you feel like you accomplish your goals or do you feel unaccomplished?
V - Are you taking care of your body AND your brain?
